Getting into a Routine

Most of you know that I'm back to working full-time in the office.  After a month and a half of this new (hopefully temporary!) chapter in our family's life we finally have found our rhythm.  Thanks to planning ahead... this mommy can stress less at night and enjoy my time with the babies!  So, I guess you could say we're just living life... which is nice.... to just be living and praising the Lord for all of his blessings!

Here are a few pictures I have to share of us "just living life."  (Please excuse the picture quality as they were taken with my phone).

Above is a picture of "Daddy's Pizza."  Andrew grinds our own wheat, makes bread and pizza dough- just to name a few.  Each week I'm sure to put "Daddy's Pizza" on the menu.  This week Andrew mixed things up a bit and made chicken pizza.  It's such a blessing to have a husband who enjoys cooking.  He always is willing to take over in the kitchen... if I let him. ;)  Seriously though, it is such a blessing to have a husband who will take over the meal prep responsibilities when I'm too tired to do it myself.

Life father like son... can you tell they are related?  I think C was putting on a show for them.

While this isn't the best picture, I just had to document Caroline eating her first Girl Scout cookie.  This picture is really for Aunt Victoria and Nana as they both were Girl Scouts until they graduated high school.  They also both earned their Gold Awards (which is like an eagle scout award- but much harder to earn!)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22

Photo Album

My heart's desire is to be at home with my children.  Yet, for some reason the Lord has me working outside the home right now.  We hope it is just temporary, and I know I'll understand His reasons for this one day but it still is very hard.  However, my wonderful sister-in-law is keeping Caroline and Drew for us while we are at work.  Lucky for Caroline she gets to spend ALL day with her three cousins.  You can probably figure out how she feels about this just by looking at the pure joy on her face in the picture above.  (The two other girls in this picture are her two girl cousins).

"Where is Maggie?"  I hear this a few times in the morning and at night from Caroline.  Maggie stayed with my mom when Drew was born since we were basically in the hospital for a week.  Then when we found out I would have to go in to the office full time, I asked my mom to keep Maggie for us until I could get our routine down.  But Triple G (my 90-year-old grandpa... we call him Triple G because he is now Great Grandpa George) loves Maggie and Maggie loves him.  They now keep each other company during the days.  So, for right now Maggie is staying with my mom.  I sure do miss her though... especially her licking up all the crumbs the little girl pictured below leaves behind...

Below is my nephew, Robby or Robbys as Caroline says!  He is so stinkin cute I can't stand it!!  He lives in California now but is moving to North Carolina this Spring.  To say we are excited that he will now be an east coast baby is an understatement!

Enjoy the rest of the pictures!  A few are from Caroline's 2nd birthday! :)

We're back...

... well, we were never really bloggers so I guess I should say, "We're here!"  Now that I'm working outside the home, I thought a blog would be the best way to update everyone on the Workmon happenings since I don't have much time to chat on the phone- especially during the week!  So, to catch everyone up here are some pictures and an update...

The pictures of DrewB (his new nickname made up by daddy of course!  I actually can't imagine calling him anything else.  It is precious to hear Caroline say "DrewB Drew" in her sweet two-year-old voice) are when he was just ONE WEEK OLD!  He is now two and a half months old, and the days of us being a family of three seem like so long ago.  DrewB looks a bit different now.  He is in the 95th percentile for height and 90th percentile for weight.  He is already in six-month clothes... what a chunk!   It's funny as Caroline has consistently been 90th percentile for height and 20th for weight!  I'll post more recent pictures of them later- I'm typing this on a computer that doesn't have our most recent pictures on it.

Having two children truly is a joy.  I feel when you're pregnant with your first child you have no idea what is coming to you.  Nothing can prepare you for the sleepless nights, stress of having NO idea what you're doing, impatience with your spouse due to lack of sleep, etc. etc. etc.  However, with your second you know you must put your armor on to prepare to go to battle with the newborn days.  (Please don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say... while tough the newborn days are some of the most special times).  You know you're not going to get any sleep.  You know you must pray constantly for patience.  You know what you need and don't need as far as supplies.  And you know what you're doing when it comes to the feedings.  (If you were a breastfeeding mom, you know how stressful that can be with your first... are they eating enough?  I am doing it right?  That all went away for me the second time around).  I have honestly felt such a calmness with DrewB which is a far cry from what I felt with Caroline.  I couldn't even think about having another child until Caroline was one due to the overwhelming stress of the life change, but the moment I looked into DrewB's eyes for the very first time I knew I wanted more (and so did Andrew).  After you've become accustomed to your life with your first child, you can't imagine your life with just one blessing (or at least that is how Andrew and I feel).  Also, through events in our lives, the Lord taught me as a mommy that every child is a blessing and that a patient mommy is a blessing to a child.

Caroline really is the best big sister around-she takes after her aunts!  DrewB gets a million kisses from her a day, she protects him, changes his diapers, reads him stories, sings to him and doesn't like to be away from him especially when he is crying.  It is amazing to see her caring heart and amazing to see how the Lord shows us His love through siblings.  What a gift!

Here's hoping to me remembering to update this blog!  I have a feeling I will... :)
